Our Story

Solvane began with one rule. If it does not come from a plant, a flower, or a cold-pressed seed, it does not go in the jar.

A small workshop, not a factory

Every Solvane product is blended by hand in a small workshop in Estonia, in batches small enough that someone checks the texture of each one before it is filled. Not a production line, and not a laboratory. A bench, a set of scales, and people who have been doing this for years.

The botanicals come from the Nordic and Baltic countryside. Yarrow, calendula, sea buckthorn, nettle and chamomile, alongside cold-pressed seed oils that carry the fatty acids skin actually recognises.

We hold the stock here in the UK and post it from our own shelves, so you are not waiting on international shipping or paying customs charges.

Made for skin that has lived a little

Most skincare is written for twenty five year olds. Skin at fifty behaves differently. It makes less oil, holds less water and repairs more slowly, so it needs richer textures and gentler actives, not stronger ones.

That is why our creams are waterless, our oils are cold pressed, and our firming serum uses bakuchiol rather than retinol. The results are comparable. The stinging is not.

Four things we will always do

  • Print every ingredient in full, in plain language, on every product page.
  • Keep formulas at least 99% natural, and organic wherever it makes a real difference.
  • Never test on animals, and never work with anyone who does.
  • Tell you honestly when you do not need a product, even when that costs us the sale.

What we will not do

We will not tell you a cream reverses ageing, because it does not. We will not photograph a woman of twenty five and imply she is the result. We will not run countdown timers or invent stock shortages to hurry you.

What we will say is this: good ingredients, used consistently, make skin more comfortable, more even and better protected. That is worth doing, and it is enough.

Questions

Write to us and a real person will reply within one working day. If your question is about which product suits your skin, tell us a little about it and we will point you to the right one, even if that means suggesting you buy less.
